Purdue
University North Central is known to be among the three hundred colleges, which participate in the Sustainability Report program throughout the US and Canada also known as Green Report Card (The College Sustainability Report Card). According to the statements from the official website of the program, colleges compete for becoming the most attractive educational institutions in terms of environmental care and healthiness of campus.
More than half of the college entrants say that they consider environmental factor and sustainability along with others when choosing a school to enter. However, not all future students observe this as a benefit for the study process. Here Khadaroo (2) quotes the opinion of experts: “It might only increase college costs at a time when affordability is a major concern.”
When following the statistics for Purdue North Central (The College Sustainability Report Card), one should mention that after spending $2 million, the university still received only “D” as an overall grade for being green, which is certainly not the best result in the rating. The program, however, requires a minimum of $16 million to be invested in the design of green solutions for the university. If one of the intentions of green program is economy and efficient usage of resources, why should the university spend so much to be its active participant?

It’s
funny how life turns out. At first you’re somewhere in the gutter, selling god knows what in order to survive, the next minute, you are married to one of Forbes’ magazines most richest men. Or, you are one of the most famous investment bankers in the world. People flock to you for advice and to invest their money. The next day you are serving a life sentence for swindling all of them out of their savings, collapsing part of the economy as well as numerous philanthropic organizations around the world. And, in John’s case, you day you are the king of fashion, the next you are dethroned.
I was born Natalia Mikhailovna Vodianova, and grew up in Gorky, which translated literally means bitter, however in this case it was a name of a famous Russian writer. I grew up reading his books and was amazed that a world like that exists outside of where I live. During the upheaval of the early 1990’s, Gorky was renamed Nizhniy Novgorod, which translates into Lower New Town. I was about 8 when this all began. Life was never easy. Our father bailed on us when I was very young, and our mother had trouble raising us. We took it upon ourselves to get us by, so we opened-up a fruit stand in the city to make a few Rubles on the side. When I was a teenager, I felt that I had this something that attracted many to me, which was one of the reasons why my fruit stand was so successful. I eventually enrolled in a modeling academy, after which I ended up in Paris. Read the rest of this entry »

Isn’t
it just a pleasure, seeing a beautiful woman walking down the street? Long hair draping past her shoulders down to the middle of her back where, if she’s wearing a thin summer dress, her loins would be seen shifting continuously during her brisk walk. Her elegant thin hands waving back and forth, with one clutching a small purse tucked neatly between her upper and forearm, opposite the elbow, maintaining a balanced stride like a ballerina performing Adage all on her own. A tall, slender figurine on stiletto heels with the metal bottoms, making that noise that is sure to make everyone turn and react to that perfect proportion of her weight and the heels hitting the ground at just the right pitch of decibels. Her long slender legs performing for a crowd of onlookers, perfectly shaved, serving as an aerodynamic structure allowing her to propel forward with little resistance.
And if she’s wearing that dress, the calves are performing an urban dance routine as they twist and turn, yet maintaining their composure knowing that they are an integral part of this performing art. If one is lucky enough to get a glimpse of her from the front as she walks, he can certainly admire the confident stride and the look in her large round eyes as her hour glass figure maintains course like one of those row boats you will find at an Ivy League school. Yes, it is a great pleasure, it is beauty. Read the rest of this entry »
Background
This
research paper was written by a group of overtly qualified individuals that have received a supreme quality of post secondary education and hold multiple degrees in the field of medicine. Comprised of scholars with prestigious titles such as PhD and Master of Science and those with high level of medical expertise such as registered nurses, the authorship of this research boats a high standard of credibility that assures the reader a quality report. Winnie So, PhD currently serves as the honorary advisor of symptom control and management group at the Tianjin Medical Cancer Institute and received her Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Colorado (ISNCC, n.d). Gene Marsh also has his PhD and Registerd Nurse and has written for many credible journals through out his career, including the Journal of Clinical Nursing and Advances in Nursing Science (Marsh, Prochoda, Pritchett, & Voiir, 2000). The study is conducted in Hong Kong, China and it samples 215 Chinese women who are, at the time, in the process of receiving treatment for breast cancer.
Problem Statement
This report discusses the effects of forms of treatment such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy on female breast cancer patients. It examines a cluster of symptoms including fatigue, anxiety and depression and how these symptoms concern the quality of life of these patients. The uniqueness of this study is that it examines a cluster of symptoms and their relationship with one another, rather than focusing on a single symptom, as many studies have done in the past. This study holds importance for many reasons. Not only is breast cancer considered one of the most common forms of cancer in the world, but it is also one of the leading causes of cancer related deaths in the female population where this study was conducted. The treatment of breast cancer comes along with stressing side effects that often cause irreversible damage to the patient. It is crucial to understand the relationship among these symptoms and the patient in order to enhance clinical sensitivity when designing and prioritizing symptom management strategies for patients, especially those in high-risk groups (So. W, et al., 2009). Read the rest of this entry »

We
are living in the constantly changing world. Everything alters: people, fashion, technology, science and, definitely, film industry. Our generation cannot remember silent movies, because we were born in a stereo era. Only those, who know about Charlie Chaplin, or were born at the very beginning of the twentieth century, might compare these epochs and would prefer the present one. Everything changes and improves: people do not die of bubonic plague, because we have antibiotics, we do not watch black-and-white TV sets, because we have a palette of thousands of tints. Are all the changes for good? Do we improve all aspects of our lives? Or sometimes we bring harm to ourselves? To change, or not to change: that is the question.
Television entered almost every home on the Earth. Everybody at least once in his life watched movies, news, weather broadcasts, commercials, TV show episodes, and so on. An average person “consumes” media for over four hours a day. It is way longer than a decade ago. It makes us think, why people do it more. Is it better than earlier or is there something else?
