Ocean
Floor Discoveries That Have Improved Our Lives:
The oceans floors are considered to be the most remote part of the Earth. The humanity has made a great breakthrough in exploring the planet, the space and the waters in the last couple of centuries. People walked on the Moon and landed on the surface of Mars, discovered new corners of the Earth, explored the ocean floors and found million of new useful species. However, the exploration of the ocean floor is not going as fast as we would like it to. Sadly, up to today the humanity has explored less than 1% of the ocean floor. (SLN)

Luxury
goods: Tremors from the global sell off:
Consumer spending is the factor known to maintain the American economy. Economists closely watch the consumer-spending rate because they are in constant fear that the consumers’ decision to cut back on luxury, non-essential purchases will hasten the economic slowdown. During the last decade the US economy profited from the famished appetite for luxury goods. In America products and services that were once the lot of very wealthy, from Fendi handbags to fast sports cars, bespoke tailoring to Prada shoes, became accessible, if not to everyone, then certainly to millions of people all over the country.

Moral
Responsibility Essay:
Within the scope of this research, we will elaborate on Aristotle’s view on ‘moral responsibility’. Merely accepting the idea that ethics is a practical enterprise in the sense outlined above, however, does not commit one to a more specific conception of the relationship between attaining a general knowledge of virtue and being able to perform the activities that are essential to cultivating virtuous states of character. The extent to which one can acquire a general knowledge of ethical matters before one has engaged in the practical affairs of life, for instance, remains an open question.

Essay on Persian Ceramics and Textile Art:
Introduction
As cultures and civilizations grow and maintain themselves, art is often used as a form of communication within a society and a means to preservation of ideas, historical events, and important people. Art can influence an entire generation and cause assimilation, as well as diversification of a society’s culture. At the height of the Persian Empire, Babylonia and Elam were under Persian rule. The Persian arts developed and people started to express themselves in the forms of ceramics and textile art. As in many other cultures, there is a diversity of influence present. For example, tribe lineage, as well as Islamic and oriental culture has influenced Persian motifs, an integral part of the textile art form. After the Persian Empire came under Islamic rule, Islamic culture, ideals and even mythology became an important factor in the Persian arts. (Wilksinson, Charles, 222). Nevertheless, Persian design is very unique from other Islamic arts and is in turn often considered one of Persia’s greatest contributions towards the culture of the world. There are many common characteristics of the two art forms of ceramics and textiles but the two have taken on different form over the years.

Essay on Writing Process:
Anne Lamott and Donald M. Murray take their readers through their respective writing processes in Shitty First Drafts and The Maker’s Eye: Revising Your Own Manuscripts. In these works, the authors offer valuable insight and support to aspiring and professional writers.
I closely identify with Anne Lamott’s account of her writing process. The vivid imagery created by her playful yet dark humor reminds me of the frustration I experience when exercising my willpower as a writer. The piece, however, offers optimism and a sense of relief that I am not the only one bashing my head into the wall, experiencing severe writers block, and doubting my skills and competence as a writer. After reading the article over a couple of times, it is evident to me that my writing process is not as unorthodox as I had once believed it to be. It has made me more confident about my own shitty first drafts and has inspired me to grow my portfolio with more, even shittier first drafts as I grow older.

Essay on IKEA:
Introduction
The company I would like to analyze is a global manufacturing enterprise of Swedish origin called IKEA. The company was founded more than half a century ago and now is one of the world’s leading producers of furniture and household appliances (IKEA, 2010b). Mainly, IKEA’s business is concentrated around interior solutions with affordable pricing, which tend to follow the modern trends. Nowadays IKEA owns around 300 stores in 40 countries with approximately 123,000 people employed and contracting 1300 suppliers in 50 countries. Measuring in other dimensions, Mental Floss (2009) informs that one tenth of living Europeans nowadays were conceived on the beds produced by the company. Besides, IKEA is identified as a large exporter of Swedish food (Barkeman, 2006), regular partner of organizations dealing with environmental protection (“IKEA Hits”, 2009), global advocate of recycling (Butler, 2009), partner of UNICEF (UNICEF, 2009) and one of the world’s biggest charitable organizations (Mental Floss, 2009).
